Duuuuude  Shocked been there done that. Get some Gunk Driveway Cleaner or similar (about £5 a bottle) from Halfords/motor factor etc. If there is a lot of oil use some sand or even soil to soak it up as much as possible before sweeping it away.

For the carpet try some carpet shampoo I guess, even if you have some stuff for the car, don't spread it too much - work on a small area. Might have to get it fairly wet but it should come away  Wink

EDIT: paint thinner has been suggested to me, never tried it but may be worth a go - carefully!

Have a look at:

Paint thinners or "Gun Wash" will remove marks on carpet (used to use it in the Valeting Trade, when mechanics got oily footprints or marks on car carpets and upholstery)but, as said before be carefull.  Pour a small amount onto a cloth and give it a light rub.  Ventilate the area well as it stinks and is highly flammable.

I have also heard that CocaCola is good for removing oil stains from driveways, never tried it though.

Next time  take it down  to  your  local   garage Roll Eyes

£15   for oil and filter, can't  be  bad ,  let them get  the skinned knuckles,  greasy barnet and    a sore  back,  while   you   have  a   small   sherry   down  the  Wine Bar.

National  Tyres   has  a   promotion  on    ( when don't  they have a promotion on ?).  Cheesy

Oil and Filter  change  for as  low as £10, that's where I'm  going to-day, it's a round trip of 50 miles  but  I don't fancy  working on the  car  in  this weather.

I would rather be cold, lying underneath the car.  I wouldn't let any of those places anywhere near my car.

If i do it, at least i know it will be done right.

Wouldn't be the first time they thread the sump plug or round the head.

Anyways that's my opinion

It was  £21   for the oil  and  filter  change,   they filled it with  ( according to the  invoice )  5ltrs. of   Visco  Synthetic  Oil   0W-40 !   ( I   hope  that's  10W-40 ). I think   that's   OK   for   a  2ltr. 16V.
