Hi I recently bent the front of my Scorpio and because I love it so I don't want to loose it. I have picked up a cheep vehicle to use as a donor car and whilst I can change the front bumper and bonnet myself I wondered how feasable it is to swap panels as they appear to be welded on, and would it be pricey? The model of mine is a 96 2.3 16v manual and my donor is a 95 2.9 12v Auto, both are estates. I know that I cannot use the radiator from the donor, (which is a shame as it is almost new) but what about the A/C is that the same, as my rad got damaged and the pipes split. If it is the same is it possible to do it myself or do I need an expert? If anybody can help I would be very gratefull.

You definitely need expert help to change the heat exchanger for the Air conditioning. It is an offence to allow it to discharge to the atmosphere with a very heavy fine if caught. But they are iterchangeable. There are plenty of Mobile A/C people who will attend and empty it for you. Have a look in yellow pages. they then return and refill your new system and check for leaks .

Thats great thanks, I thought I might have to get somebody to do it, but thought I'd double check. Does the radiator need to be removed to swap the A/C, or can it be removed and re-fitted with it in place?
