Welcome Wink

Usually it means that your battery outputs are low.

Possible reasons start with:
Battery Condition
Fan belt
Very cold weather
To many short runs less than 5 miles so not enough to recharge

Have a look at electrical faults on the fault finder page

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/faultfinds.htm

Good luck

Ouch, you need to take it for the odd longer run or in this weather it may let you down.

This has happened to my Scorpio (today). When It was running the instrument cluster went ballistic, airbag warning light, ABS and a continuing gong - Decided to switch it off and investigate further tomorrow (as I was a bit scared  Shocked Grin). P.S I found a battery cover in my local scrappys for a fiver (along with some other bits n bobs) - Craig.

Hopefully just the battery with a bit of low charge, however, gong noise is a bit worrying. Maybe someone else can provide a bit of reassurance. Diesels need every bit of juice that they can get in cold weather. Good luck  Undecided

just finished work, was a bit worried about it starting as its -3 out, but started fine. used it a fair bit today but with as many electrics turned off as possible.
i did the diagnostic test thing with the trip button, batt voltage is 14 which is about right, but the pulses at idle are 59 when they should be 52, whatever they are  Huh
