Can anyone advise me on how to remove the remaining parts of the nuts left in the Dif. htey have sheared off and I need to reconnect the driveshaft... Is this an easy operation. I've been quoted £6 for the bolts and 6 hours labour...

You dont say weather its inner or outer coupling bolts. can you nget the coupling off the broken bolts, if so best solution is weld another bolt on to the broken bit (electric welding, stick or mig) use an m10 or m12 bolt, if access is too tight, then either the hub or diff assy are not too hard to remove so you can do it on a bench.

I've been under the car myself now and I've checked where I was told the issue was. Not the prop shaft... CV joint is where bolts have sheared off... Was only replaced about 7 months ago. Shortly after someone drove in to back of me. Needed new bumper and tow bar. Not sure now if this shunt may have weakened the bolts. His insurance co took car away to repair... I've looked where the bolts were and they are almost smooth. Really not sure what I can do... I can't drill them out... The bolts are only 60p +VAT, but the labour charge in just getting them out....

If the heads are rounded out then its the welder, you know they are 'torx' bolts, have you tried a good quality bit, make sure its all the way in, use a hammer, you usually break the bits first, unless its not all the way in.
