Hello All OBD scan shows P0750 - Shift solenoid A - I assume thats why no 1st gear. Sets off in 2nd all the time Anyone ever replaced - Shift solenoid A ?? Fingers crossed that - Shift solenoid A - accessable once sump off & not hidden away in internals. From the excellent pics in Auto box filters site post; the solenoids are visible & appear retained by longish metal strip. Hoped that I was not the "first person down this road"; surely not everyone uses Auto. Trans. specialist Basically bought car for spares - but if I can fix it I will use it as a winter car. Not worth spending vast sums on so has to be DIY - hopefully not "Destroy It Yourself" So is solenoid easy to get to as I was going to do oil & filter change on auto box soon weather permitting. Opinions & advice sought david

Thanks Will check to see if sumps been off previously Assume that solenoids easily removed, otherwise you would have had an horrendous bill if box needed stripping to get to them david

Box does not need stripping. I have a dodgey shift 3 solenoid and have been quoted about £200-£250 for a changed out with new oil and filter
