Ignition Lock Problems

Hi, I bought a 95 estate a couple of days ago knowing that it was becoming difficult to turn the key in the ignition lock. In fact only the red key would do it. I have ordered a rebuild kit for the lock but I haven't received it yet and now the lock will not turn at all. The article on this site about rebuilding the lock says that if this happens it is much more complicated to remove the lock. Does anyone know how to do this or is it simply not practical and I need an auto locksmith? Thanks

without getting the key to pos 1 it is very difficult, you will probably need a lock assy as well as a barrel.
