something appears to be draining the battery. have had new relays, new fuses, new battery and alarm and interior lights rewired.  does not always do it only occasionally when left standing overnight or whilst at work.  but today happened after i had been driving around town for an 1 hour stopping and starting 3 times then left it for over an hour and when i went to it would not start.    You can eventually get it to go by jump starting but it is not easy.  it is an R reg 2.5 diesel automatic

any ideas.

Have you , once your motor turns, checked the voltage on the battery?

I suppose it is the alternator (diodes) which causes the drain.
It is not very difficult to remove it. Bring it then to shop, specialised in refitting alternators (much cheaper then a new one)
