Turbo works? (2.5 diesel) How can I see that the turbo is in perfect order? I bought recently a second Scorpio 2.5 Diesel which has much more Power than the car I had for one year. Both cars have about the same millage ( about 12000) I suppose that the turbo on the first one doesnt behave as well than on the second. I read all the stuff concerning EGR , but I could not find any EGR on this cars. Where to find it? regards and thanks Pustagris

The 2.5 TDi diesel was revised for more power and torque in September 1996 is your new one maybe the later model?

On my TD there is no noticable 'kick' to tell when the turbo kicks in as the big diesel lump already has heaps of torque, just a quiet whistle and fairly rapid increase in pace after about a second when the turbo is up to speed. If you havn't already had a look the EGR location is found here about halfway down the page (view from the left hand side), you may need to remove the heat shield above the exhaust if your car has one fitted: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/replacemap.htm You could also try some injector cleaner, or what i found works is find a straight piece of road and just floor the car up through the gears to give the injectors a good clear out at high revs. Hope this helps, Matt
