All needles go to max

hi there new battery. the dash does this where the voltage drop at start-up.

Read this to make sure you get the correct battery. The power is all important due to the high level of electrical equipment on these cars. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/battery.htm. When you re-fit make sure all the wires are connected. It is not unknown for a small black wire to be missed and thus cause problems.

Well, I went & bought a new battery today at our local battery specialists and he was most surprised when I asked for such a big battery, and proceeded to inform me that this size of battery (650 CCA & 71Ah) will soon be not made by the battery manufacturers, the one I got is actually 680CCA & 71Ah. So it looks like we will soon have to make do with smaller batteries.
