I've not used my 2.5td estate manual to tow a caravan, but have used it to tow a twin axle trailer complete with mk2 granada estate on the back to the billing meet last year.

The car towed really well without any issues, pulling and braking evenly. My estate has self levelling suspension which always helps, but even without this there shouldn't be any problems as long as you remember the importance of getting the weight distribution right and to check the condition of the trailer/caravan especially before running on the motorway.

Unless you have a ridiculous size of caravan then I cannot see any problems.

HTH, and good luck.

Even with a ridiclulous sized caravan i expect you will have no probs.

The Scorp is an excellent car for towing + expect good fuel status so long as you dont tank it!

With patience, i did Inverness to Southport + back on around 23mpg.  Half of that was with 850kilos of Bug on the back.  750mile round trip btw  Grin

Havn't towed a caravan but I've towed a couple of cars on a transporter from Leicester to Essex with my td, towed an Escort estate td which it did easily enough, then my other scorpio estate td (which must weigh in the region of 1750 odd kg  Shocked ) and it did that fine. Also towed my mate in his mini van (on the end of a rope) when he broke down and you couldn't even tell it was there!

The huge amount of torque the big td lump produces makes towing a breeze, mine has the 'doughnut' things in the rear springs and would recommend them if you're towing something really heavy to stop the suspension bottoming out when going over bumps.
