cruise control not working.

i`ve got a n reg 2.5 diesel ultima. the problem is that the cruise control dose not work. i`ve checked the cable and the controler and the power plug which all seam to be ok. where can i start looking to try and fix this problem? or what can i try is there a fuse or reley that controls it? Thnaks in advance

My cruise control stopped working a while back, i checked the usual things, no joy, got annoyed with it out on a run , and i thought sod it ! so i just started to tap the buttons down HARD on the steering wheel , and like magic , it went into cruise, i must of freed a dry connection or something, i had not used cruise for quite a while , now it works every time Hope this info helps you too M8, fingers crossed eh ! on it being that simple Kevin_R

Like Kevin, mine was the same. As the buttons have no illumination, its impossible to tell when it needs to be switched on or the Resume button just need to be pressed. Good luck

I read earlier in another posting/topic that the diesel doesn't have Cruise control, can anyone confirm or deny this please, as I have an N reg diesel, and mine has the buttons on the steering wheel, but doesn't appear to work. Obviously, if it isn't fitted on the diesel, then I can't expect it to work , but I had thought that there may be a problem with it, so was just about to investigate, when I read this topic. Thanks Pete

I have seen plenty of photos of diesels with the buttons on the steering wheel and the post at the top of this page suggests that they do!

I have both an N reg and a M reg diesel Scorps and they both have cruise control, so yes, diesel's certainly have cruise.
