my 2.3 i want some advice with guy's,temperature gauge has been erractic to say the least as of late,heater was a little cooler,but not cold,had the thermostat changed today (original showing 88,000),now although the heater is now working better,the gauge is still misbehaving. Angry.....
engine temperature sensor maybe.. Huh

Could well be a loose connection to the sensor, mine did this a few months ago. Sometimes worked fine, sometimes moved about between min and max of its own accord. Found out that my sensor was actually broken so not making a good connection but check the wires first!

its on the thermostat side of the engine,under the black trunkingshould be the black connector which should be the one at the front,grey connector control the fans.

be carefull if you change it. it should have a gap from the block. don't be tempted to do what i did and screw it in tight. NoNo

obviously you have had a similar problem as well then,and i still have not forgot about your offer of the "quick steel",still looking at my options on that one.. Wink

torque to 23nm or17 ft lb.there's a locking compound/sealer on the threads thats why you need to use the correct torque and not the F T technique.
