boot lid causing problems

Hi guys, the lock on my boot lid is playing up and despite a goodly few squirts ofWD40 the lock is still very sticky. Often when I try to close the thing the lock refuses to lock, if you see what I mean. Now when I open the boot the lock has a kind of delay and then gives a sort of "twang" noise as the lock mechanism releases it self. I cant see what part of the lock is playing up, any Ideas guys would be welcome. Ferret

Hi Stan , no the latch is not bent. The problem is comming from the gizmos behind the lid. I think that the cold weather dont help either Ferret

hi ferrret not really much behind panel the electric motor a connectig rod on to latch.could be loose clip,or some wiring being dislodged stopping latch fully opening.but the twang does sound like something bent/out of alinment.

Hmmm, it could be the connecting rod sticking, which would make sense cos with the application of a lot of WD 40, at least it locks...now, before hand it wouldent lock at all. Ferret
