Mistery problem solved ! Who can explain?

I own a Scorpio 2L 16V essence 1996.automatic gearbox.
Very nice car, very reliable but not during wintertime.
once the outside temperature went below 6 celsius (42F)
is was impossible to drive faster than 40km/h. ( limited operation ?)
after 5 to 10 km depending of the outside temperature suddenly everything was normal and the car drove smoothly as usual.
next morning : the same problem.( very disturbing for the cars after me)
I tried everything, changed some sensors and cleaned the MAP.
Several "specialists" even a dealer in a large Belgian city tried to fix the problem.but nobody was succesfully.The dealer even proposed to renew the whole injection system and all of the sensors.
after 3 winters of struggling I decided to try to sell the car to someone in Africa or in another warm country.
But browsing for a last time this Scorpio site I learnt that it is possible to reset the computer of the car by disconnecting the battery.
If one has problems with a PC it is always the first thing to do : restart the PC.
So I tought as a last perhaps desperate move lets try this with the scorpio.
I did and after reconnecting the battery and restarting the engine I immediately could hear that as a first result the idling of the engine was much better.
next morning it was below zero in Belgium.
Believe me or not but the trouble was gone!!!
It is already several weeks now, everything fine and at no costs.
As i do not believe in ghosts who can explain this?

If only you'd visited earlier......
There are so many sophisticated systems on the Scorpio. Sometimes, they go wrong - well, okay, often they go wrong, and they seem to need resetting - as you say just like a PC.
In fact, if you think about how many times you restart your PC to solve a problem, then Scorpios are incredibly reliable.
That's a whole new outlook on Scorpio ownership
