Locking wheel nuts

About a month or so ago I posted the problem of having just bought a Scorpio but not having the key for the locking wheel nuts. So not being able to contact the previous owner after numerous attempts I decided to take matters into my own hands - when things dont go to plan sheer brute force and ignorance will shine through. So what I did was this:- I hammered a 16mm socket into where the key would go to break the protective shroud open (the purpose of the shroud is to stop people hammering sockets on to the nut........works real well ) then once the shroud was broken and able to revolve around the nut I then hammered a 15mm socket onto the key itself and hey presto the little b****rs came off took 10 mins all in. Next job in the forthcoming weeks is new brakes and tyres, well in between working on the Escort, Rover, Mondeo and Xantia - Craig.

True true stafford, no matter what you do if somebody wants something that bad then they will have it. Or wreck it if they cant steal it.
