Cracked head

During a series of unfortunate events, the head cracked on my trusted '95 estate.

So obvioulsy I need a new one or a replacement engine.

However, I live in Norway and those parts are prohibitivly expensive over here.

So I'm wondering if there might be somewhere in UK that has  reasonably priced spares. (I suppose the LHD vs. RHD setup woun't matter for the head).

Also I'm considering a replacement engine. I'd love to swap to a 2.3, since the 2.0L IMO i a little gutless. Anyone know if it's an easy swap? Is even a V6 swap possible without too much hassle?

I suppose converting an UK engine to LHD might complicated things a bit. Does anyone know how much?

Obviously I am very interested in LHD parts form maniland Europe as well.

Thanks a lot for any help Cheesy

I don't think the engines are different between LHD & RHD.

Not sure about changing from 2.0 to 2.3 but changing to a V6 would be a pain and probably not worth the hassle.  However you could probably get a 2.0 engine from 1990> Granada or Sierra (though most of them were 8V so you'd probably need the ECU too and it'd likely be even more gutless).

You can put more or less any engine in that was offered (and even one or two that weren't), but you'd need to change at least the exhaust and probably the radiator, as well as the steering rack, front springs, brakes, gearbox and a nest of wiring!  I once converted a 1.6 Sierra to 2.0 but they were both pinto engines and had no fancy electronics...

Thanks for the advice.

I'm really not up to do a lot of work for anything less than a V6 24v, but then again this is my daily driver and I suppose my mileage would suffer.
I've been in contact with the local Ford workshop who suggests a new engine, but since the engine has less than 100k on the odo, I suppose I'll go for a replacement head.

Anyone know any good suppilers?
