hi all, I need to raplace my steering rack on cosworth 1996. I went to get a price on one, but they were not sure if mine had a speed sensor or not. Any ideas if the cosworth has the speed sensor or not Thanks

later cosworths were fitted with speed sensitive steering, but im not 100% sure if they early one were. some of the 24v owners will give you a definative answer soon. Russ

Have a read of this. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/steermanual.htm. and see if that helps. If you follow the link to 'actuator' it shows an electrical connection which is not on the 'standard' power steering. If you can locate that I guess you have the answer. ( Russ, that link says all 24v were fitted with the speed sensitive unit).

while you are waiting further respose, it may be worth your while getting underneath and having a look, obiously i dont own a 24v, but if it is speed sensitive, there must be some form of multiplug, and wiring, directly connected to the rack itself. hth Russ
