Does anyone know of anyone that has slapped a supercharger/turbo on a Scorpio Cossy? I am sure it's possible. I think it would make an interesting project.

Well the engine rebuild will make an interesting project! Seriously, just getting a xxxxxcharger to fit is the easy part - you'll probably have to lower the compression ratio to prevent pinking, and then you'll need to reprogram the ECU to add extra fuel when it senses boost. You've then got to add oil feed and return hoses, an intercooler (optional but better with it), and modify the exhaust (if fitting turbo). Don't forget the cooling system and brakes too, and the transmission needs to be able to handle the extra power; all this is just for a standard in-line engine! Being as the Cossie is a 'V' engine you'll also need to split the inlet manifold into two halves, add a second turbo. inc. intercooler, oil feed, etc. A supercharger would be easier - if you can find some way to drive it from the engine... In short, it can be done, but not easily or cheaply. Most turbo engines in a 'normal' car are straight fours or sixes simply because it's easier and needs less bits adding. You'd probably be better fitting the 2.3 and 'blowing' that instead as I doubt there'd be room in the engine bay for the V6, twin turbos and all the associated stuff to go with it. Having said that, if you manage it you'll have the fastest Scorpio on Earth! Darren

Yes a super charger is a costly mod. A STD engine will only take about 7 psi before you run into problems. It would be so much work. Take a look at this BOB to give you an idea. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f291/ebayebayebay/012.jpg A 2.3 would not be much easier best bet with that engines is to use a RS2000 top end. A 2.3 RS2000 engine makes about 200 bhp when set up & some even turbo it to get almost 300bhp but again alot of money.
