Whats that on the tarmac ? Auto box oil?

Evening all
I was wondering if anybody could help me?
I parked my 12v ultima this evening by reversing into my parking spot, locked it and walked into the house. I returned about 15 minutes later, and to my horror I found a great deal of oil on the floor and running down the road!
It looks redish in colour so I'm presuming its transmission fluid but I can't be sure, although I checked the level and it wasn't showing on the dip stick, it seems to be coming from around the near side some where roundabout under the aircon pump. Is there a transmission fluid cooler on the front as I seem to remember something about some pipes corroding through?
Thanks in advance

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/coolerpipes.htm    shows the 24v pipes, but all are similar with the cooler at the bottom of the rad.

Could  be  the dreaded  rust bug  has  corroded  the  ATF  pipes leading  from the  auto box  to the  cooler  rad ,  a notorious weak spot  as    the pipes are   mild steel  and  get attacked by  rain and salt  all   year.

Good   news,   fairly cheap  to  fix.

Seems to be quite a common problem and Flopster is right, it is neither expensive nor difficult to remedy. I would recommend, if you haven't got one already, trying to acquire and engine tray, doesn't eliminate this problem completely but certainly helps to deflect a lot of road muck out of the engine bay and on to parts

Might also be Power steering fluid  a sudden gush of oil like that is more likely to be from the rack IMHO.

Thanks for the help,
I've checked the power steering resovoir and it has lost any fluid so I'm hoping for its the cooler pipes
