Sarter motor bolts keep undoing.

Hi can anybody help, I had a 2.5Td engine replaced and since then the 2 bolts on the starter moter keep coming undone anybody got any suggestions. Cheers.

Use that lock nut stuff, forget the name now, take out the offending bolts, squirt some locking solution onto them tighten them up and they should never come loose again.

Cheers Thanks for your suggestion I have already tried thread lock but it still managed to vibrate loose. Are there meant to be more than 2 retaining bolts if so i can only see two from undreneath the car. Cheers John.

hi-i know the petrol models have a stabiliser fitted on the rear of starter,think this is it on this link for diesels http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/electrical/starting/startertdi.pdf .if still comming loose with this fitted,would new bolts not help think they have some kind of thread lock on them,or thread lock and drill the bolt heads and wire together.hth

Use some STRONG thread lock it does come in various strengths. Clean the threads of the bolts with thinners or petrol before applying it and then tighten up fully.
