Blowers Intermittent

Hi the car is a 2.3 petrol auto saloon 1997 with climate control. I have a problem in that the blowers have a mind of there own I have replaced the blower control panel at the front but to no avail can you guys point out any thing else to look at and yes I know this problem has been posted before but I am unable to trace it.

sounds like a faulty HBC ken,details on how to test the uni are

You don't fully describe the problem, the CC system is meant " to have a mind of its own " it's a computer after all. 
The blower will intermittently come on, go off , blow hard, blow soft , hot or cold.

Try a full reset as per the page on the main site . Might clear any faults

Hi Snoopy thanks for that but the darn thing will not reset I know the procedure as I have carried out in the past but this time it will not have it and as for you Mr Floppy I am fully aware of its function I have owned the car for nearly 5 years now but I can assure you that there is a fault and at present I am going through a process of ilimination,if I can source a working hbc rather than buy one on spec then that will be something else to either rule in or rule out,I can live with it at present as most of the time it functions as it should, once again many thanks for your advice.

The only other thing would be the SATC MOdule behind the dash . I did have a spare but sold it just recently. There must be others with spare SATC modules about.... Need the dash out to get at it though

Hi snoopy yes you are probably correct with satc module being at fault there is one for offer on ebay of which I will try and source.
