Hi I have an embarressing problem with my pneumatic lumbar support on my 1998 Scorpio. It only stays hard for 3 or 4 minutes. Are there any known problems and hopefully remedies for this.Fortunately my girlfriend is very understanding and has promised to stand by me through this

3 or 4 minutes ? Mine's is Floppy all the time, I believe, in case of emergencies, there is a hand/pump manipulator under the N/S seat.

Ford know about this problem and recommend squirting some liquidised viagra onto the seat back! Seriously, you've got an air leak. Might just be the non-return valve on the rubber bulb which has failed. Darren

What spec Scorpios have the pneumatic lumbar support ? My old H reg Granny Scorp have this but my N reg Ultima does not, I just assumed that Ford had dropped it for the Scorpio 95.

Mickey. My N regUltima estate has an electric drivers seat and that has lumbar support.Electric. and the passenger seat has the pneumatic version as it is not electrically adjustable. Have a read of this. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/handbook066.gif.

Hello Hamish, recognise the picture? Both driver & passenger seats on mine have full electric adjustment, but as was mentioned earlier, there is either an air leak in the pump or the seat. Knowing how nice the seats are in your car, I would suspect the pump,..... as sector9 reckons.

One of those things that you didn't know you had, after 18 months of ownership I only discovered the underseat pump thingy quite recently
