hi fellas
just completed the engine loom repair on the cossie,
now the engine won`t start! the pats indicator on the dash does not flash at all. the engine turns over but will not fire, there is a spark at the plugs but there doesn`t appear to be any petrol getting to the cylinders. when i press the bleed valve on the fuel line petrol comes squirting out.
any ideas?

There is a big green relay (number 17) in the fuse box next to the battery - try pulling it out then replacing it. This controls the fuel pump. Also check fuse 42.

Battery cover in place?

Plenty of charge in battery?

Have you had the battery off?

If so make sure that you have reconnected ALL the leads to the battery, it has been known for one to be missed a thinner black one which sometimes drops behind the bulkhead.

According to this page:

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/24vlooms.htm

the injectors get their voltage from the fuel pump relay in the fuse box next to the battery.

hi all
as dave pointed out the relay operates both the fuel pump and the injectors, and the pump is working! so i dried out the fuse box and cleaned all the fuses and relays still no go. i read somewhere on the site that the eecv also controls the injectors. just wondering if a wire has dislodged. will check it out and let you know.
thanks
