Remote fob misery

Help!

MY remote fob stopped working when the car went in to my local Ford Dealers.

I just got another one off E-bay and that is also not working.

Is there anything that can go wrong with the reciever that could cause the problem?  Would disconnecting the battary reset everything?

P.S. I know how to program the remotes.

The battaries are new.

I get the ping when you turn the key 3 times and the ping when you turn it back to O  But no ping when I press the remote button/s

Dirty contacts inside the remote?
Try cleaning with some alcohol or a pencil eraser.

Hello
100% solution to your problem.
Chuck remote into darkest recesses of garage.
Use key instead.
That's what I did - however this is 1st car I,ve had with a remote so not bothered anyway.
Remote is too "flaky" for my liking - occasionally it would lock doors then they would unlock 5 - 10 secs later!! - Utter rubbish system!!!!
Try it - far less frustrating and more reliable - for me that is

I got a remote with the car bout 3 years ago but found batteries were flattening very quickly (days) - checked contacts/cleaned etc - but useless.  Didn't want to buy one from Ebay as felt might be same - someone else's reject they were trying to sell on.  Dug deep and bought one from FMD for about £85 incl VAT - beg for discount as even parts person will gasp!  Been no problem since (bout 2 years ago).

Used key for  over a year - previous owners had obviously done the same - I was amazed to discover that the lock was so worn that any Ford key would open it!  Something to check.  Just replaced driver's door lock.
Regards,  john d york.
