i drover the car to my garage... and next morning i left to work i noticed that the steering was stiff. when i turn left its stiff but when it goes over 90 degreess its normal and then again next 90 degree is stiff and so on. power steering is working fine and the oil is ok...no leaks and no strange noises.

Ah, I misunderstood, one or two things , if you think the steering rack is fine then maybe the belt is slipping at low revs, could be the lower wishbone ball joints, track rod end ball joints, check for play or a split in the rubber boots, mc pherson strut top bearings may be dry, broken coil spring , Etc. Have you even checked the tyre pressures ?
