HBC total confusion

 ok I am confused, being that I am a woman suppose this doesn't come as a surprise, but here goes. I have an Ultima estate on a P plate. It has the climate control, aircon, fancy thingy, that does all,(well apparently) well since I bought this car I have had confusion with the whole HBC side of things. It first started when I turn the dial round for the heater to come on, it would come on eventually and goes on and off at will, The whole temp bit of it works. Then it started staying on all the time, so I got another HBC unit and at last I could turn off the fliping fan. Well now I am back to square one, the blowers come on and off and now the weather is warming up I have noticed I cannot opt for cool air and the aircon doesn't blow cold at all. I know I will have to have the thing gassed up, but should the blowers, when switched on, come on after 10 mins, go off, then on etc etc, hope you can make sense of this, but a bit hard to explain, any info appreciated. perhaps it is supposed to be like this, but surely if it is raining and I want to turn the dial to clear the windows, then this should come on at a twist of the switch?

hi-have a look at http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/aircon.htm you could try a reset 1st.see if you get any fault codes.i usually have cc running on auto all the time at windscreen/footwells setting.does come on and off all the time,according to temp/speed etc.it is quite complicated when you 1st use it,but hopefully after reading info on the site you will get to grips with it.let us know how you get on.
