hi there all you scorpio owners  
 
i need help in sorting out a problem with my gearbox the problem is only when you press the clutch in it makes a grinding type of noise whether in gear or out  
does anyone know what the cause is or will i need a new box the car is a 2.3scopio ghia manual on a r plate Huh Huh Huh

sounds like the thrust bearing... Undecided
if so,needs a new 3 part clutch is my guess...

cheers craig have just bought a full clutch kit from my brother who works in a motor factors should ov been 230 quid and i got it for 100 am going to fit it on saturday all being well

i had a 2.3 and apart from the usual inlet manifold problems (made of plastic and prone to cracking Angry),mechanically never really missed a beat,mine was always serviced on the button,and semi synthetic oil was always used,i also had the ultima,and the spec was amazing,personally thought the 2.3 was excellent all round,and from what you have posted what it owes you,you hve had a result... Wink

thanks for the replies but on inspection after taking gearbox out found that the spigot bearing has colasped and can't get the part till monday so fingers crossed it has not done any other damage also 2 rear calipers brand new 70 quid is that good? Huh

parts like clutches and brake calipers, pads  disc's handbrake cables can be aquired through my brother  all parts are new but if any of you require them will check on postage costs and add that to the price then you pay either by cheque or paypal or cash and then will post just let me know what you require and if i can get it i will Smiley Smiley Smiley  all he requires is make,model reg number(so he can check part numbers on computer)
