When it has been raining I get a build up of water in the boot lid, so when you raise the boot and if you are not carefull you will get showered in water I have been all round the back of the car to see where the water is getting in but with no joy, I did notice on either side of the bottom of the lid there are 4 holes 2 each side, I have checked these making sure they were not blocked. Any ideas lads.

mine was doing the same, but i didn't have thoes holes cut, they were just barley punctured. So i have made them. Still some water ramains in the boot lid, but before this i was geting liters of water out of it, and the ex-owner didn't know about this so the boot lit have rusted in the place that all the water was staing

Isn't it just the design of the lid ? When the boot lid is fully raised the rainwater unfortunately drips from the corners of the lid into the interior of the boot each side of the rear light clusters.

Mine does the same, what i do now is open the boot slightly, maybe 20cm, hold it there until all the water has dripped out and low and behold, no getting a soaked head or water in the boot Matt

| Ditto Rather messes up me looking cool with the remote boot open feature though when I press the remote 20 yards away, remember about the water going on my stuff, then run to catch the lid

Thanks for all your replies, but what are the four holes for at the bottom of the boot lid, should they remove the water?

Thanks to one our members who sent me the full back red light strip and this has cleared the shower of rain when opening the boot. I fitted strip 10 days ago to give it good test first, and last Sunday the heavens opened I have never seen rain like it in my 69 years. Well it passed the test, no more showers when the boot opens. Thanks for all you solutions lads. Best wishes, Podge.
