Hissing Inlet Manifold

Hi there folks I've had a hissing noise coming from my 2.9 16v Ultima since I got her (not that long ago). I finally managed to trace the source of the noise and it's coming from the left air intake of the inlet manifold. When I put my hand over it it was sucked in (kinda like a hoover) but the air intake on the right hand side is making no noise and has no suction to it. Is this how it's supposed to be or is there something wrong with the airflow vein? Both valves are 'open' to the same degree. Thought it might be the idle speed control. I know that on my old Granada Scorpio they had seperate air flow meters right next to the air filter and it was just a case of replacing one of those to correct the probelm (as the valves were housed in that). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Darren

hi no there shouldnt be any hissing, has the inlet been taken off in the past (that you know of) may just be the gasket not seated properly or one of the studs have come loose/not been tightened, also check to see if any of the vacuume line have split or fallen off good luck matt
