For the past few days I get the red warning light on the dash indicating that the door is open- (rear drivers side) I have too realy slam the door for the warning light to go off, but to wake up in the night too the car alarm going off. Is it a switch in the door that is faulty, or something more serious, and can it be rectified by ones self. podge.

Hi, yep, I agree. My tailgate one kept doing it and also a while ago on Sierra Cossie in the past. It is most likely the switch inside the door which clips onto the lock. The ones in the door are a right pain to get at so dont mess around buy a new one from fords cos they are only peanuts. I fitted a s/h one on my Cossie Sierra and then swore 2 days later when it had to be replaced again !!!

Since my first post on this subject the light door indicator now stays on all the time , and no end of door slamming makes it go off. As a tempory measure can this switch be shorted out on the door loom, and if so what colour wires are they. podge.
