Ignition Barrel

I've just fitted a new ignition barrel using the splendid instructions at
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ignitionlock.htm
Many thanks!

I have a few (hopefully) constructive comments which hopefully can be incorporated into the instructions:
A reciprocal link to
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockbld.htm
would be useful.

Under "Ignition lock removal"
it says "Very straightforward. " - I think this should be changed to "neigh on impossible without removing the PATS unit - there is a phillips screw underneath"

Sadly, I didn't heed paragraph one and mine got to the stage where it wouldn't turn at all - Mr AA took off the lower shroud and unhooked the plastic bit that the ignition unit connected to - this meant I had to turn the key to unlock the steering and pass the PATS and then use a small key to turn the ignition on.

Also - the upper shroud comes off more easily if you lower the steering wheel.

The steering lock must be off to slip the new barrel back in - this wasn't an issue for Simon C as he'd turned key to position 1 to remove barrel - but I'd been driving mine.  This was actually the most frustrating bit - possibly because the England game had just kicked off.

That'll do - thanks again to Simon C.
