new disc wont slide over hub

went to kwikfit to get rear pads and discs changed been there all afternoon !! the disc they first ordered did not fit our hubs, the first disc they used were unipart 151mm,the man doing it said theres a prob and showed where it dont fit on the hub ! he said ill order a set from fmd but you can hve it for the price i said it will be , (so we thought thats fine) just ment more waiting for them to be delivered. the fmd discs arrived and they did not fit either they were 151mm like the last disc !! our hubs are 160mm so they wont fit on our hub so we dont know whats going on? he belive its all orignal hubs and driveshafts on our car.. i cant work out what is going on here? and what size should they be ? sally

151mm The disc should be 273mm on a V6 and 253mm on all the others or am I reading this the wrong way

the disc was big enough but its the center of the disc it wont fit on the hub the disc wont slide over the hub and they were both the vented discs ?

hi,according to ebc the rear disc has 165mm dia hub fitment with 273 disc dia the ones they tried to fit must have been the front ones .you can get better than a kwik fit fitter.......lol

its was gonna be £140 quid for the discs and pads , but had to put ma old disc s back on , as theres did not fit , so ended up paying just for the pads

ebc disc £47 each with vat,just fitted 4 new discs to 2.3 estate front £20 each rears £15 each plus pads,

£88 for rear fords disks and a set of pads from http://www.fordpartsuk.com/ simple job to do yourself if you can! New pads should be fitted with the disks even if the old ones are new! Dave

Dave's right ... and it really is a simple job if you've got the right bits. Allow 30-45 mins per wheel depending on your experience. Probably the "hardest" part is getting the piston back far enough to insert pads - for the front calipers use the top of a hammer handle (or similar) and just PUSH Paul

Remember when fitting rear pads the little raised pimple on the pad backing plate is there for a reason, fit it so the pimple fits into the indents on the piston or you'll get imperfect wear on the pads and, more seriously, on the discs.
