The blower for some reason has suddenly for no apparent reason stopped. The aircon is working but obviously nothing comung out of the vents unless you are doing 70mph. I have done a system check and got 56. It was working fine thus night but nothing fri morning. Any suggestions would be 'cool ' and welcome!! Cheers d.x.t

the codes are here codes the 5 prefix is sometimes present AFAIK . so should read 06 as the fault code but well worth doing several resets to try to clear it.

Thanks Dave. I've tried several times to reset but still nothing. If I try to search for faults now it reads '00' which is no faults but still the blower will not come on. If you listen closely you can hear a slight hissing sound when you operate the air distribution switch from one posistion to the next. But still no blower. Cheers David

hi there take the hbc out (under the windscreen) and spray in a little wd-40. then get a long stick, etc and try and move the fans (look down the hole). be gentle and it might work. btw, have you checked ALL fuses?

hi there the scorpio's electrics are a bit 'interesting'! a lot of circuits overlap on to other ones, hence check everything! saves time if you know every fuse is sound.

Sorry Scorpio-man but still nothing. Tried the WD40 but still no blower. Have double checked the fuses, tried resetting at least a dozen times but still nothing. Apart from taking it into a Ford dealer for a computer check (which will cost an arm and a leg) I'm not sure what to do next. Cheers David

Probably not related, but check the vacuum hoses where they connect to the recirc valve (driver's side of the blower assembly under the bonnet) - IIRC the 'off' position for the CC system cuts off outside air so there should be nothing coming through even at speed. Also whilst you're under the bonnet, check the security of the multiplugs on top of the blower assembly, and for voltages across the pins when blower is turned on. Darren

I take it there hasnt been any burning smells. Have you looked at the pollen filters? Sometimes these arnt changed as often as they should. Which puts extra strane on the motors. Ive managed to cure this problem twice in the past with other cars just with changing filters. Check them before buying any. On past fords there was a relay which was right under passenger dash. It was for the vent motor. If its there id check that too. Regards. Derek.

Hello again ..... Finally got the blower working. We followed our friend from Finlands proceedure to dismantle the evap box and found a 6 penny spring had rusted and fell off the motor. All back together now and the blower is working fine. However the CC control panel is not working properly now. You cannot get the 2 lines -- to appear in the little windows so that you cannot reset the CC. Also with both switches to fully to the left which should be off the blower is still working. Any advice please. Thanks again to Finland. David.

Have you re-checked the 'ribbon' connector at the back of the cc control panel?. It needs to be firmly clipped in place or it can dislodge with the movement involved in replacement.

Still no joy with the CC control unit ( which was working before the blower problem ). Cannot get the 2 -- in the dislays, therefore cannot run the reset operation. Also the auto selection does not work. I have also replaced the Vacuum Motor, the original had completely disintegrated. ( love to know exactly how that thing is supposed to work ?? ). Cheers but frustrated. David

Hi Snoopy ..... you do mean the MODULE which is behind the instrument cluster don't you I've read many reports about the problems of taking the panel off and I am not looking forward to it. But it is the only thing left I haven't checked. I just wish there was some way of checking before getting lost in a few miles of wires, !!!! Regards David

Yes that's the one. Getting to it is quite easy so I am told several members have replaced the SATC module there are instructions on the main site HERE the whole of the A/C manual is there as well . Its not a mass of wires the SATC module is connected with a ribbon cable .
