Mum knows best!

A word of caution, driving along in a thunder storm 2 nights ago and felt a drop of water hit my hand, strange i thought is my sunroof leaking? Automatic reaction was to put my finger to my mouth No it wasn't water but the most disgusting burning fluid imaginable. Yes you might have guessed, my autodip rear view mirror had broken dripping its guts out. Only an hour before i'd noticed it wasn't dimming properly. So if you notice your mirror isn't dimming get it off your screen as quick as you can don't wait like me and keep your fingers away from your mouth, just like your mum used to tell you Mum knows best!

Mine hasn't dimmed for months, but hasn't leaked yet. The other day, in the intense heat a gap appeared at the top, where the liquid has dropped, but still it doesn't leak. I've stuck a load of black tape around the bottom & will get a new one asap

You'll be looking for a replacement interior if it drips on to the dash or gear surround!!.

Hello all. My rearview doesn't work electrically which is no problem really, but it's a good bet that it will start leaking one day. That being the case, can anyone recommend a replacement? Thanks. Trev.

My mirror does darken, but I'm not convinced that it's working 100%.

Excellent advice from Simmo. Ignore it at your peril, because sure as hell WHEN (not if), it leaks, you will wish you HAD removed it, as it will wreck your interior! I removed mine, and drained all this 'alien blood' jiz out of it a couple of months ago after it packed up. Now just a plain mirror. These auto-dim ones are a gimmick. Complete waste of time, as you can't leave them in the car when it gets hot. Like, in the summer. Doh!!
