Wing mirror auto dip

Well my n/s wing mirror has stopped moving now when i put the beast in reverse. Anyone know what makes the mirror do this? I've broken a couple of scorps but can't remember ever seeing any module or relay for the mirror. It doesn't work with the reverse lights cos they still work fine.......so.......any guesses would be appreciated

Would be interested to find this out as well, my mirror has a life of its own! When in reverse it points straight down at floor and when you put it in drive it never goes back to where it started, also when you unlock the car after setting the memory position it moves when it shouldn't.

hi-you do have modules for the mirrors both doors have them for controlling mirror movement etc.not a100% on which module would be the one to check for dipping mirror as drivers module acts on both sides ,and of course both connect to central control module.

Hi Paul,

They are controlled by the drivers door module, which is located top left of the door. When u remove the door card & waterproof membrane.

It has 1 large multiplug going to it.

I should point out that both mirrors operate as they should from the switch on drivers side, its only the bit that makes it point down towards the kerb when reversing that it doesnt do. Is this still controlled by the door module on passenger side?

Hi Paul

Mine didn't auto dip, turned out to be one of the mirror plugs diconnected in the n\s door - white one I think.
You could still control it from the drivers door.

hi paul

are your reversing lights working? it's just a signal from the gearbox via the pcm? to dip the mirror.

Yes mate, the reverse lights work ok, and the motor in the mirror works fine from the switch on the drivers side. Somebody did post something a while back about there being a relay or module for this mirror dippy thingy but nobody has ever found it yet as far as i know

Be interesting to see what will make it work again  Smiley
