Does any one know the resistance of the temp. sender (hot) on a 97 2.3 ,ive checked the instrument panel as on main site,its know to the point that its in the blue 98% of the time.

Are you sure it's the sensor & not just the thermostat stuck open.

If you take the thermostat housing off and you see a nice steady flow of water through (when the engine is cold, not even I am crazy enough to take the housing off a warm engine ), the stat is probably broken. If you then take the stat out and are able to look right through it, it IS broken. Mine was like this I recommend you to change the 'stat as it costs next to no money and will do wonders with your engine if that was the fault.

Coolant flow is fine,stat opens ok. i can get my hands on another instrument panel in a week or so which is why i thought i check the sender, but cant find a ref. to its resistace?

My temp gauge was permantely in the blue when I bought the car. I didn't stop to think that the instrument panel may have a fault, I just bought a new sender & that fixed the problem
