Hi, might be nothing but, when stationery and the car is still cold the power steering gets a bit juddery when turning (foot off accelerator) can feel slight vibration through steering wheel. Normal or a sign of a problem somewhere?

If you are trying to turn the wheel without allowing the wheels to roll you will get this 'shuddering' effect. Best to avoid it as it is effectively overloading the rack etc. That is why you will see advice on here about putting the wheels on wet grass or a magazine if you are working on the steering so that the pressure is reduced if you are unable to raise the car.

Indeed, compared to PAS on other cars, the system on the Scorp is rather girly and feeble ( just my opinion ) and does not like to be operated when the car is stationary and at parking speeds is somewhat too heavy for my liking . One of my few complaints about the car.

Thanks for all the info gents, will get the power steering TSB done when next in Fords for service. Am i correct in thinking that i will have to pay for TSB's but not for recall work as TSB's are not considered to be a safety risk.

Have you jacked the car up off it's wheels recently and is the fluid level ok, Sometimes you can have this juddering when the car is raised off it's wheels.

No car hasn't been jacked up,fluids are all ok. So thinking this might be down to needing the TSB carrying out. Then again it doesn't do it all the time so not sure, will i have to pay for TSB work?
