EGR Vacuum Hoses.

On my return trip from cornwall yesterday, I noticed a loud woosh noise under acceleration over 3000 rpm. Today, I found the source of the noise, both vacuum hoses to the EGR have cracked/disconnected. Would this attribute to poor fuel consumption ? What hose do I replace it with - anything special or just rubber hose the same thickness ?

hi there better get the cat checked as well. they can blow off when the cat is blocked. that would explain the poor fuel consumption. hth

fuel consumption is back up to 33-35 on a run - it was down to 26 though on the return from newquay with the car fully loaded to the roof lining and a roofbox on top too.
