Spring replacement

How on earth do I remove the rear springs on my saloon? I tried jacking it up and undoing the shocks, but the arm won't come down, and there is something coming down in the center of the spring which doesn't seem to come off (the thing which holds the yellow rubber piece).

Oh, and any advice on changing the front shocks, springs and spring bearings? Seems like I'll be doing that operation first by the looks of it.

Wow, that's a lot of work to replace the springs  Cry

Are they broken or  sagging  ?

Would  it  not  be  easier  to  fit  those  rubber  spring   expanders that  caravanners   use for their  tow  car  ?

They are about 2-3cm shorter than they were when new, so a bit sagging.

The rear is a female dog.! but we got them done to after a lot of ** annoy, anxiety, bedevil, dolor, excruciation, flog, importune, infestation, persecute, pester, problem, scourge, thrash, torture, trouble, worry - ing ** hours....
