Failed on PAS fluid leaking from resevoir pipe ! 2 turns on jubilee clip and 2 litres of brake cleaner - passed. Its the first MOT I have sent it for since owning the scorp and what a relief. 2 advisories. exhaust clamp on rear section rusted general corrosion - had a look, all seems very light rusting.

Well done Another poster mentioned his MOT tester's fussiness over surface rust on a sill. You are allowed surface rustiness underneath providing the structure of the chassis is not weakened.

Yeah, I sills are pretty bad. Spotted it too late... Anything I can do that is not going to cost me the price I paid for the car? Stu

Bad luck that your sills are bad yet your info says it's a 1998 model ? Maybe there's something in the rumour that later models were more prone to rust than the earlier ones.

Yeah I know Still under 100K as well. I guess that "Stitch in time" proverb is true after all... I think you're right about the older models as well. There is an N reg that I occasionally see during my excursions into town and he appears to have practically no rust. Now either he took early precautions, or the facelifted models appear to be more advesely affected. Stu
