Front wishbones

I have a klonking sound in the front suspension and have found that its the front left wishbone. Is it possible to change only the 2 bushings front/back or do I have to change the hole wishbone.
I planning to leve the work to a Ford service shop.

What can I expect to pay?
Thanks
Dave

buy new wishbones its easier than changing the bushes in my opinion, but if you are getting someone to do the job they will give you a price, parts and labour

I have changed the link-arms on both sides 1 year ago. When I lift the car up and turn the wheel left/right I can see the rear bushing moving. I suppose that is the problem? Should I be able to move the bushing?

The inner one is fine!

But the rear is the problem. Maybe the rubber fin?

If it is the large rear bush it is a diy job or a simple job for a garage. If there is movement you will get a 'clonking' noise. The anti roll bar bushes if worn will also add to the problem. These are simple to do and a garage with a hoist etc should do the job within two hours max. The rear bush should not move at all.

Me and my old man did the anti roll bar links in a good hour, didn't even take the wheels off. You just jack both sides of the car up and replace them. Easy  Grin

The bushes are also done in a couple of hours.

In my experience,  replace  the rear  wishbone  bushes ( £15)   first    (  it's possible  to do it without  removing  the  wishbone )  and if this makes no difference   then  replace the  complete wishbone   ( c. £100).

Just  replacing   the   front  rubber  bush  ( £5)   on  the wishbone   is  a  task  so  difficult  and   time  consuming   as   to  be  not   worth   considering.
