well folks, ive given up..i say thanks to all those that have tried to help me on this forum but after having 2 scorpios with problems, that not even main agents can solve. ive given up. they just have too many problems. so ive ended up with a merc. obviously the ford designers were on a bender during the months when they designed the scorpio, hence its full of floors. but saying that i still give thanks to you guys who have given me loads of advice.

as rod stewart once sang; 'never give up on a dream'

you might've just been unlucky, plenty of us dont have too many probs (he says touching wood  Roll Eyes ).
dont trust main dealers, they dont want to use up time sourcing probs on older cars, just not profitable.

That is true, quite a few build quality probs on the new A and E class too I am told Wink

My car has been good overall, mabye you were just twice unlucky. The gizmos can become a headache, as can any mass produced car but most problems on mine were down to bodged work earlier in the car's life. Given the choice I'd forsake most of the gizmos as long as I could keep the aircon, CD player and power windows and admit that I long for more mid range power on the A roads but hey, this isn't a Scorpio opinions discussion and I like the car overall. When I do replace the Scorp, it'll be a Jag, love my XJ's even if I can't afford them Wink.

All the best with the Merc and make sure you pop your head back in form time to time Smiley.
