Door lock solenoid

hi all changed my rear door with one from a scrap yard (thanks Baz) but the complete door lock solenoid / handle inside & out was totally missing so had to transplant my old one, well got it all in but cant get the outer door handle verticle rod to clip into the small white plastic connector to the solenoid i have all parts screwed to the body work (thought this was the way to do it but can any body help) thanks for looking

Had the same problem and it is a pig of a job! Is easier if you bolt the handle on afterwards if I remember correctly! Dave

the rod needs to be pushed into the clip, it will then self close & lock, make sure the clip is 'open' first. just a small tail of caution, I built & fitted a new o/s front door lock barrel last week on a customers scorp, just feeding the c/locking switch round the new barrel, I some how managed to move the switch with my finger, diddnt know it had 'global opening / closing', just managed to get my hand out of the door as the window dropped, only problem was the regulator sliced through the loom, very lucky, tip from the top is allways unplug the switch. more haste less speed.
