Seat Memory Selector

Hi all and Hello... I'm a new member
Bought a 1997 Ultima Cosworth, VERY nice. Set the ignition to point 2. Tried to set the seats by pressing the long bar. No sound at all.
Got a new selector. Put it in. Set the ignition to point 2. Pressed the long bar and BONNNNG. It worked. Set the seat and the mirrors etc and pressed 1. It saved it. Turned the ignition off. Went out, came back and then I tried to adjust the setting.
Swith the ignition to point 2, Press the long Bar - NOTHING
Oh well, has anybody else had these problems or is it a short somewhere in the loom from the door to the main or somewhere else?
Anybody any ideas ?

Mine makes the bong noise after pressing both the long bar then a number button. Long bar, number then bong as it saves the seat position.
Press the number button as you get in and it moves straight to the saved postion, press a number with the ignition on and you have to keep the button pressed or the seat stops moving. It also works moving the seat, if you use the remote, with three different remotes able to trigger it to three different seat positions.

You don't get a bong unless you press the long bar then the number.
Try moving all the seat positions, press the long bar then No. 1, you should get a acknowledgement bong.
Now shift all the seat settings, then press No. 1, the seat should automatically shift back to the previous memory setting.
