Changing wishbone bush - H&S?

Hopefully my new front wishbone bushes (for the wishbone rear), will turn up tommorow. The job looks straight forward enough, I'm just a little concerned about how to go about supporting the car whilst I do it. I've got a plentful supply of ramps, trolley jacks, axle stands and chocks etc.. Will I be safe just running the front wheels up the ramps, then taking some of the front end weight onto axle stands (via the jack) and then undoing the four bolts of the saddle bracket? Can it safely be done on just the ramps without risk of the wheel wanting to slide out from under it once the saddle bracket is removed? I appreciate the final tightening has to be done with the weight on the wheels.

I did mine just on ramps. No apparent movement. However, chocking the wheels never harms. Jim

I did mine on ramps. The wheels did pull the rear of the wishbone outwards a bit & it was a pig to get the new bush to sit back in properly. In the end I used a trolley jack to push it up while levering it sideways with a crow bar I'm gonna do the front bushes as well this weekend as they didn't seem all that clever (maybe that's why the wishbone swung sideways). I think I will jack it up & take off the wheels this time

You get more movement with the wheel dangling. Untighten the four small 10mm bolts, then the big 18 mm end bolt, raise the car with a trolley jack placing it inboard ( on the longitudinal chassis member ) of the forward jacking point, and support with axle stands .
