Hi I have just replaced the manifold to cat gasket and had to boost up to restart since then my speedo is stuck round past 150mph and does not reset to zero I have tried reseting with the oddometer trip and also dissconnecting the battery for five minutes all to no avail anyone got a suggestion or had the same prob and fixed it would appreciate the input

hi there the easiest way is to take off the front plastic panel and gently move the dial by hand. see here for instructions of how to take of the 'wood' surround. hth

Hi Thx for the info removed dash this arvo and hey presto speedo working it reset itself as i disconnected the door light to stop the gear gong

If you meant the needle got stuck below/on the 0mph pin stop, it happened to my Granada last July. The pin is a very soft plastic and connecting a new battery caused it to bounce beyond its usual range and past the pin, where it got stuck. I was setting to Sotland towing the caravan, so I doubt I went that fast , but at some point on the way up it corrected itself, jumping back over the pin - speed seems to fix it, perhaps combined with a good thump on the dash at an appropriate speed.
