Do I have a problem or is it because its the lower series ie not an ultima ..thanks guys in advance ..david

The buttons on the module do tend to stop working after a while. Spraying with a bit of switch cleaner seems to help, but doesn't last forever. I find that if I hit it underneath (not kidding) a couple of times then it works. Also the reset button has to be held in for a couple of seconds

It's the design of the contacts, stripped mine and cleaned it when I first owned the car. But then how often do I use the computer I ask myself , the only time I ever use the buttons is when I've had the battery off and it's defaulted to metric If you're nimble with a screwdriver then you can 'prise' it out and get at the contacts...switch cleaner doesn't work well unless the contacts move against each other, dislodging the crud Regards, Bruce.

Hi, the best way to clean the contacts is with switch cleaner and a toothbrush to get right into the contacts. I would also check the underside of the board as well, because I have had dry joints on the switches and resoldering them should do the trick. Don't forget the R button needs to be held down for a few seconds and that it only resets the average readings and will have no effect on any of the other settings.

Isn't there a diagnostic in the dash which enables you to test the function of the fuel computers buttons? For information:- The 3x buttons don't connect onto individual wires to go to the computer, they use a crude form of multi-plexing where each button feeds a different resistance back to the computer when pressed.
