2.5td fuses and relays

I was checking my fuses because my interior light has given up, Removed and checked all the fuses and checked the condition of the relay connections. When i started the scorp up the engine sounded rattly and generally unwell and the speedo and rev counter refuse to work and the trip meter has reset. Oh and the light still doesn't work along with the hazards and the rear heated screen Someone suggested the power saver relay or the timer module. But would that affect the engine? I'm running out of ideas and would love to know how fast i'm going

Just noticed that the glow plug light isn't on either. Both fuse boxes have been rebuilt

Had the same with mine mate, its the large green relay in the n/s fuse box, the reason the engine sounds rattly is that the relay has something to do with the injector on cylinder 1, the rattle is just diesel knock due to overfueling. try playing with the relay but mine had to have the wires rewired due to corrosion (not in the fuse box but the wires going to it) Got probs with my climate now which i think is down to the same thing.

Thanks for that mate. I tapped the relay a couple of times and it got better for all of 3 seconds then went back to the knocking I take it the relay is a ford only part?

relays should be a universal part, any motor factors should match them....

i've got a spare relay but doubt very much that its the relay at fault, more the fuse box or wiring

Tried to get a relay today but looks like ford only as its not a typical type of relay. I put the relay in place with the ignition on and it did click initialy but the glow plug light is still off and the diesel knock was still there. I love this car but its really trying my patience!
