Has anyone ever attempted to convert a 2.3 petrol scorpio to the 2.5 VM td engine. I have a good 2.3 car with a blown head gasket and a crashed diesel car with a good engine. Any experiences or advice would be much appreciated.

Of course, me being me would be looking out for a rear-ended Jaguar Double Six 6.0 V12 in a roman bronze metallic Scorpio saloon, pumice leather and chromed 12 spoke alloys Add that to Highlander's 2.0 diff mod and you have retro styled dynamite... Blue, I'd imagine it's been crunched, i.e. not a pretty sight. Our cars are great but the moment they get a tap, the lovely curved bumpers and wings just crumble to save the centre cage On a serious note, if it was me, it'd be less hassle to just get a new head put on the 2.3, I know the 23 has a couple of known problems but it's a nice smooth revving block, good amount of top end power for a 16v. Transplanting a TD would be poss but the electrics would be a nightmare, even without things like the diff and the gearbox. Regards, Bruce.

Could be done but a lot of work i would think, front springs need swapped, possibly brakes?? gearbox, differential, instrument cluster is different, no idea about the electrics side but no doubt major work involved there too but if you have all the bits to swap and the time then its possible
