Blank Radio

Hi all, my radio 7000RDS has got a blank screen. I tried a number of suggestions I have found in the forums but none seem to work. The radio itself works fine. I tried drying it out, left in my place for over a week. I took the front plastic cover off and tried applied a hair dryer (not getting too close). If there is anything else I can try, please let me know as I don't want to bin it. Thanks

Yes, there's an epidemic of blank 7000 screens on the site this winter. But good news for me, my 7000 is back to normal to-day, perfect LCD screen . No rhyme or reason, after days of playing dead, it springs back to life

When my car left this evening, no display...not even a hint of it...my CC displays also used to suffer along with the radio, anyone else on here with that problem? Once got a friend (that's what friends are for ) to hold her finger on the cc display for ages once to see if it was heat related...like hell it was Regards, Bruce.

took the security panel of today and sprayed with wd40, allso had battery out to recharge it. 7000 radio now lights up like a xmas tree. dont know if it was the wd40 that did the job or disconnecting and re connecting the battery that did it but it works, how long for though is anybodys guess.

I had that problem, and I solved it completely by taking it out... ...and putting an Alpine unit in its place. Cheers Penguin

Our 7000 series radio front display failed about four weeks ago. Then it came back...............then it vanished........etc.etc. Column control works fine so we have now nearly remembered by rote all VHF stations that we listen to............ Display - WHAT DISPLAY DH Dove
